Editorial firewall

Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate relationships never influence:

  • Calculator formulas, defaults or outputs.
  • The methodology, assumptions or limitations we publish.
  • The selection or ranking of tools, products or strategies in our educational content.
  • Whether or how we publish a correction.

Labeling

Sponsored content is labeled "Sponsored." Affiliate links are labeled "Partner" or disclosed inline. Display ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content.

Categories we generally decline

  • High-risk speculative products (e.g. binary options, unregistered offerings).
  • Predatory lending products.
  • Anything we would not feel comfortable describing to a reader honestly.
